Update – All Viable Truck Routes Are Currently Closed
Well the situation as expected did not magically improve overnight, if fact if anything things are getting worse due to freight continuing to be entered into the system daily that cannot move.
So the Vancouver situation remains the same.
No LTL Pickup’s in the lower Mainland will be performed for shipment destined to Eastern Canada
No Pickup’s will be performed in the rest of the country for shipments destined to BC.
We can move shipments from VAN southbound to the US for US LTL only. I know some of you are thinking of this option, but we cannot move a shipment from VAN into the US, across the country and back up into Canada… Obvious Customs issues.
Update on WPG
WPG was hit hard with severe weather over the past few days. This in addition to the BC issues has put them very, very far behind.
There are 30 trailers unable to service. The time line to get out of this mess could be a week or more if there are any further issues.
They are running overtime, double shifts and pulling all resources they can.
They did not go out of town yesterday (Winnipeg) to perform pickups and deliveries but will attempt today. Many drivers are very hesitant due to road conditions.
CN/CP have halted all rail pickups in VAN, they will not book any. And they also will not book any destined for BC.
